How to Use Gen-2

1. Input a text prompt of up to 320 characters, adding a reference image if you'd like. To understand how adding reference images will change your output, check out Gen-2 prompting modes.

   
   
   

2. Adjust advanced settings. Upgrade to a subscription to unlock features like removing watermarks or upscaling.

   
   
   

3. Preview your results — hover over the result you like most and click "Generate this" to generate.
   
   
   
   

4. Rate your result — this helps us get to know what you are and aren't liking for future model updates and improve our product for you. 

5. Download using the small download icon that appears when hovering over your generation. Generations are automatically saved to your Runway assets.

How much does Gen-2 cost to use?

Gen-2 costs 5 credits per second of video generation. 1 credit = $.01.

How many consecutive seconds can I generate with Gen-2?

Individual generations are currently limited to 4 seconds for all plans.

What's the maximum resolution available for Gen-2?

The default resolution is 768x448, but if upscaled (requires a paid plan) can be up to 1536x896.
