Using seed numbers

Notice: Gen-1 will be deprecated after Sunday April 5th, 2025, at 11:59pm ET. Use our most up-to-date models, instead. Assets created with this tool will remain in your assets. For any additional concerns please reach out to support via the help button in the bottom right of the dashboard.

Interested in retaining the same visual style across multiple clips in Gen-1 and Gen-2 for better consistency or continuity? You'll want to give seed numbers a try. Seeds function as a sort of "visual fingerprint" of a clip, and provide a stylistic starting point for the model to utilize during the generation process.

Gen-1

In Gen-1, you can toggle your seed between "randomized" and "fixed" under the generation's settings. When first opening Gen-1, the tool will automatically be set to "randomized", and shuffle the seed number after each generation. By clicking the shuffle icon, you'll swap to "fixed" mode, where the seed value becomes editable and sustained between generations.

All of your Gen-1 generations have their seeds stored under Assets (at the bottom of the leftmost menu) > Gen-1 (an automatically generated folder). Click your generation and scroll down to see its seed. If you'd like to copy its visual style onto another clip, just copy and paste that seed into Gen-1 settings when in "fixed" mode!

Gen-2

In Gen-2, seed options look a little different. Rather than automatically appearing on the righthand menu, seed options appear by clicking on the Advanced Settings button, which looks like an icon of two slider bars. Uncheck the "Fix seed between generations" button to input a specific seed, and re-check it once complete in order to apply that seed to all successive generations.

Gen-2 generations also export with their seeds attached. Just navigate again to Assets > Gen-2, click your generation, and scroll down to see its seed.
