If I upgrade from a lower plan to a higher plan, do I have to pay the full rate of the higher plan?

Choosing to upgrade from a lower plan to a higher plan will prorate the cost between the two plans. This means you’ll pay the time-adjusted difference between plans, rather than the full subscription cost, when upgrading during an active billing cycle.

Since upgrades are prorated, your credits will not completely reset after an upgrade. You’ll instead receive the difference of credits between the original plan and new plan.

In example, upgrading from a Standard plan to a Pro plan would add 1625 credits to your account. This is because the Standard plan already includes 625 credits, which are deducted from the 2250 credit balance of the Pro plan.

Alternatively, upgrading from a Pro plan to an Unlimited plan would not add credits to the account, but it would immediately unlock access to Explore Mode. Please review the Unlimited Plan Details article for more information on Explore Mode.

To see the exact prorated cost of an upgrade, initiate the upgrade without confirming. You'll see the prorated amount listed on the upgrade payment page.
