Why didn't my credits refresh on the 1st of the month?

Runway's generative tools run using two types of credits — monthly allowance credits and purchased credits. Monthly allowance credits are the credits that automatically come with a paid subscription as a perk, while purchased credits are obtained through intentional one-off credit purchase payments starting at $10, where $0.01 = 1 credit.

Previously, monthly allowance credits used to refresh on the 1st of each month. As of November 16th, 2023, credits now reset following a user's billing date. Credits are added to your account at midnight UTC after your subscription renewal is paid. If your subscription payment is administered after midnight UTC, those credits will be added to your account the next time the clock reaches midnight UTC.

All users with an active subscription will see their credits refresh shortly after their billing day to their subscription tier's set amount:

  • Standard Plan users will see their credits reset to 625
  • Pro Plan users will see their credits reset to 2250
  • Unlimited Plan users will see their credits (for Credits Mode, not Explore Mode) reset to 2250

Your account's billing day is the day that you initiated your plan. For monthly plan users, this is the day that you receive your monthly charge. For annual users, this is the day of the month that you initiated your plan, minus the monthly charge. As an example, a user that initiated their plan on the 20th of any given month would have a billing date of the 20th of each month.

Please note that billing day allowance credits also do not stack, so make sure to use all of your monthly allowance credits before your billing date. We are unable to make one-off exceptions to when credits refresh, and cannot grant any user their credits early. For more information on how credits function, please see How do credits work?
