Runway ML Lab will be sunset on November 30th.
ML Lab was an earlier version of the current Runway experience, and this will not affect most Runway users. For current ML Lab users, the most typical sunset questions have been covered below. If you still need help after that, please submit a support request.
What does this mean?
Starting in early October of this year, we began sunsetting ML Lab. You can no longer train new models or access a number of existent community-offered models. Next, all access to the ML Lab platform itself will be removed on November 30th.
What tools should I use instead?
We highly encourage you to check out our new AI Training options: Portrait Generator, Pet Generator, and Custom Generator. If you loved ML Lab's Latent Walk feature, try our Frame Interpolation AI Magic Tool in its place. If you want to produce generative content, try Gen-1 and Gen-2. Just about everything on ML Lab has since been made more accessible, responsive, and dynamic in the standard Runway web application.
Are the models I trained in ML Lab going to be gone for good?
No, they are not. You can download your models' pkl files by navigating to "Models" in the ML Lab sidebar then click through to your desired model. You can look under the "Checkpoints" tab and see any available downloads there.
What about the assets I made with ML Lab?
These will always remain: they are currently available under the main Runway dashboard's "Assets" tab and will persist there even after ML Lab is sunset.
Anything else I should know if I'm still using ML Lab?
You'll be able to export your models up until November 30th and will retain permanent access to all of your ML Lab assets. If you still have unused credits that you do not intend to apply to the tools in the current Runway suite, please submit a request for a refund.
