Introduction

Runway offers several customization options for the aspect ratios and resolutions of your generative videos, enabling you to tailor your content for any screen format or project. 

Customizing aspect ratio

You can customize the aspect ratio before starting a generation. To do so, select the aspect ratio button from the generation canvas:

Different models may support different aspect ratios. Check the Creating with Runway article for your specific model to see which aspect ratios are available.

You can also change an existing video's aspect ratio without cropping by using Expand Video.

Customizing resolution

Generative video creates outputs at 720p. However, these outputs can be upscaled to 4K by selecting the Upscale to 4K () option beneath the completed generation. 

Currently, Runway does not offer numerically customizable pixel sizes beyond the Upscale setting.
