Introduction
Brand Kits let admins and editors create reusable collections of reference images and videos for the products, locations, colors, and more that define a visual identity. Whether you're maintaining consistency across marketing campaigns or collaborating with teams on branded content, Brand Kits keep your essential visual references organized in one place.
Each Brand Kit focuses on a single brand or project, making it easy to find and apply the right references when generating new content. You can build up your kit over time by uploading reference materials, then reuse those assets across on demand without searching through scattered files.
This article guides admins through creating, publishing, and generating with assets in a Brand Kit.
Step 1 — Building your first Brand Kit
Begin by navigating to the Brand section of your Runway Dashboard. Click Create your first Kit and enter in a name for your project or campaign to proceed to the Kit editing page.
This page is where you will add different sections and assets within those sections. Sections are fully customizable, meaning you can use a structure that works best for your specific project or use case.
Below are some examples of how you might consider building sections based on different needs:
| Company brand | Product marketing | Storytelling |
|
|
|
You can drag and drop groups of selected assets from your local machine to upload in bulk.
Section descriptions
Each section includes an optional description field that helps guide how its assets should be used. When you add a description, it's automatically incorporated into your Brand Kit's custom system prompt, giving the model context about how to apply those specific references.
| Example description | Assets | Result (No text prompt) |
| Integrate these colors into the environment of the photos. Use grainy, noisy gradients. |
|
While descriptions are optional, we recommend adding them to ensure consistency when generating content with your Brand Kit. Clear descriptions reduce the amount of prompting and iteration needed to achieve on-brand results.
Step 2 — Creating with your Brand Kit
Once you've added the desired sections and their assets, click Save & Exit in the top right corner. You can later edit your Brand Kit by selecting Edit in the top right corner.
You can now use and test your Brand Kit from multiple locations:
- Brand page — Click Use Kit in the top right corner and select the desired generative mode
-
Directly in a session — Click the Brand Kit icon in App, Chat, and Tool modes to easily access the assets within a session
This will open the Brand Kit panel where you can select your assets. Select any assets you'd like to use, write a prompt, and generate.
Step 3 — Publishing your Brand Kit to the Workspace
When you're satisfied with the results of your Brand Kit, you can publish it to make it accessible to all members in a Workspace.
- Navigate to the Brand page
- Select Edit in the top right corner
- Select Publish to Workspace in the top right corner
After publishing, members can follow Step 2 to create with the assets.
Any later changes saved to the Brand Kit will automatically update to members.
