Enterprise admins can set up automated email alerts to monitor credits across their organization. Credit Notifications supports two alert types:
Credit spend alerts, which notify you when usage exceeds a threshold
Low credits alerts, which notify you when a workspace's remaining balance reaches or drops below a set amount so you can top up before work is interrupted.
Spend alerts can monitor Workspaces, users or Projects. Low credit alerts track remaining balances at the workspace level.
Step 1 — Navigate to Organization Space Settings
To access credit notifications, you'll need to open your Organization Space. From your Runway dashboard, click on the organization name in the top navigation bar, then select Organization Settings from the dropdown menu.
Once you're in Organization Settings, locate the Settings tab in the top navigation bar and click to open the Credit Notifications section.
Step 2 — Choose an Alert Type and Configure
Within the Settings tab, click Set up notification to open the configuration modal, then use the Alert type dropdown to choose between Credit spend and Low credits.
Credit Spend Alerts
Spend alerts notify you when credit usage exceeds a custom threshold, with tracking options for both rolling 24-hour windows and cumulative spend since the notification was created. Select a monitoring scope of Workspace(s), User(s) or Project(s).
If you select Workspace, configure the following options:
- Workspace selection:
- All Workspaces in your organization — monitor credit spending across all Workspaces in your organization
- Choose Workspaces — select specific Workspaces to monitor
- Set a credit limit — enter the credit threshold that will trigger the email notification when exceeded
- Monitoring period — choose your tracking timeframe (rolling 24-hour window or cumulative since creation)
If you select User, configure the following options:
- Add user(s) — select the specific user(s) you want to track
- Set a credit limit — enter the credit threshold that will trigger the email notification when an individual user exceeds this amount
- Monitoring period — choose your tracking timeframe (rolling 24-hour window or cumulative since creation)
If you select Project, configure the following options:
- Add Project(s) — select the specific Project(s) you want to track
- Set a credit limit — enter the credit threshold that will trigger the email notification when spend on the Project exceeds this amount
- Monitoring period — choose your tracking timeframe (rolling 24-hour window or cumulative since creation)
Low Credit Alerts
Low credit alerts notify you when a workspace's remaining balance reaches or drops below a set amount. Select Low credits from the Alert type dropdown, then configure the following options:
- Workspace selection:
- All Workspaces — monitor every workspace in your organization. Each workspace's balance is checked independently against your threshold
- Choose workspaces — select specific workspaces to monitor
- Set a credit balance — enter the remaining balance that will trigger the email notification when a workspace reaches or drops below it
- Send notification to — add the email address of each person who should receive the alert
The alert email lists each workspace at or below your threshold along with its current balance, so you know exactly where to add credits.
Step 3 — Manage Existing Notifications
The Credit Notifications table lists all configured alerts. Use the Type column and filter to switch between spend and low credit alerts.
To modify or delete an existing notification, click the three dots (...) next to it and select Edit or Delete.
Changes to notification settings take effect immediately. You can create multiple notifications to monitor different alert types, scopes or thresholds simultaneously.

FAQ
Who will receive the alerts?
Alert emails are sent to every address added in the Send notification to field when the notification is created. You can add multiple recipients to a single notification.
What is the difference between a credit spend alert and a low credit alert?
A credit spend alert tells you how many credits have been used, notifying you when usage goes over a threshold. A low credit alert tells you when a workspace is running out, notifying you when its remaining balance reaches or drops below the amount you set so you have time to top up.
Can I set a low credit alert for a specific user or Project?
No. Low credit alerts currently track remaining balances at the workspace level only, and they don't use the monitoring period options that spend alerts offer — a low credit alert simply checks whether a workspace's balance is at or below your threshold. To monitor an individual user or Project, use a credit spend alert.
