Introduction
Upscale Image enhances any image to 4K quality in a single step. It's useful for photographers, designers, and content teams who need to increase the resolution of an image for print, large-format display, or any use case where pixel quality matters. Whether you're working with a lower-resolution original, a generated image, or an older asset that needs a resolution boost, Upscale Image handles it without any configuration required.
Prerequisites
Before using Upscale Image, you'll need:
- An input image — any image you want to upscale to 4K quality
This app requires credits to run and does not support infinite generations in Explore Mode.
Step 1 — Accessing Upscale Image
Upscale Image lives in the Apps section of Runway. You can get there two ways:
- Navigate to Apps in the left sidebar, then browse to find Upscale Image
- Use the search bar at the top of the Apps panel and type Upscale Image
Select the app to open it.
Step 2 — Adding the inputs
Upscale Image has one input.
Input Image Upload the image you want to upscale using the Select button. No prompt or additional configuration is needed — Upscale Image is purpose-built to enhance image resolution, and it handles the rest automatically.
Step 3 — Generating with Upscale Image
Before generating, confirm:
- Your input image has been uploaded
- The input is required — the Generate button will not be active until an image is provided
Once your image is in place, select Generate. Upscale Image uses up to 48 credits per generation and outputs 1 image.
