Enterprise FAQ: Third-party Models in Runway

Last Updated: April 29th, 2026

Introduction

Runway gives enterprise teams access to select third-party models alongside Runway's own models — all under the same enterprise terms, data protections, and security standards that govern your account.

Below you'll find answers to common questions about availability, admin controls, and how your data is handled.

FAQ

Which third-party models are available in Runway?

In addition to Runway's own proprietary models, subscribers also have access to select third party models from leading AI providers. See here for available models on Runway’s web app and here for models available via Runway’s API.

Can admins control what third party models are enabled and disabled?

Yes. Admins can enable and disable individual third party models by following the steps in this article.

When are third party models invoked?

When a third-party model is enabled, the third party model may be used when selected by a user or when a Runway feature uses them as part of its processing. If a model is disabled, no data will be sent to that model provider; however, some features may have reduced functionality.

Your organization controls which third party models are enabled by following the steps in this article.

Do our enterprise terms cover our use of third party models?

Yes. Your enterprise terms, including DPAs, apply to your use of third party models in our platform and via our APIs. Runway has secured enterprise level commitments with each third party model provider, including commitments to not train on Customer Content and a DPA with privacy and data/security commitments.

Can third party model providers train on our data?

No. Runway has secured contractual commitments from all third party model providers that they will not train on Customer Content, including inputs and outputs.

Does Runway’s indemnity cover third party models?

Yes. Runway indemnification obligations in your enterprise terms cover third party models on Runway.

What security review does Runway apply to third party models?

All third party model providers are evaluated through Runway's vendor management program, which includes a security review, validation of available security certifications, and contractual data protection requirements. Critical vendors are reassessed at least annually, and these controls are validated as part of our SOC 2 Type II audit. You can find our architecture diagram and more details in our Trust Center.

Do your model providers for Seedance and Kling models process customer data in China?

Our providers for Seedance and Kling models have confirmed that they will not process your customer data in China.
