Introduction to workspaces

Workspaces are shared instances of the Runway experience designed to enhance collaboration and project development among multiple users in real-time. Read on to learn how to set up, manage, and maximize the use of workspaces for your creative endeavors.

Creating a workspace

To create a new workspace:

  1. Click on the workspace switcher at the top right corner of the Runway dashboard.
  2. Select the purple “Create New Workspace” button.

Your home account can also serve as a workspace, allowing you to add additional editors as needed.

Adding editors to your workspace

  • Standard Plan users can add up to 5 additional editors to their workspace.
  • Pro and Unlimited Plan users can expand this number to 10 additional editors.

Subscription fees are charged per user. For detailed pricing information, refer to the “How many users/editors do you want on your workspace?” subsection of Which plan is right for me?

Workspace credits and assets

All members in a workspace share one pool of credits. Each member’s generations will not impact the speed of others members’ generations, granting everyone continuous and prompt access to Gen-1 and Gen-2, among other tools. Completed generations are saved in the creator's private assets but can be easily moved to the workspace’s shared assets, allowing seamless access for all members. Members can also collaborate on Video Editor projects, utilizing Runway’s cloud-based editing software in real-time with one another to create longer form projects.

Managing Workspace Settings

To access and edit your workspace’s settings:

  1. Click on the workspace switcher at the top right corner of the Runway dashboard.
  2. Select "Workplace Settings" from the dropdown menu.

See Workspace settings for a comprehensive guide on managing your workspace.

Workspace Membership and Access Levels

The access level of each workspace member is determined by the workspace’s admin. For detailed information on membership tiers and their associated access rights, see Workspace members & roles.
