Introduction
Ad Concepter generates storyboard-style concepts from a product shot and a brief description of your idea. It's built for marketers, creative directors, and brand teams who want to quickly visualize ad directions without starting from a blank canvas. Whether you're pressure-testing a campaign concept or exploring multiple creative angles before a shoot, Ad Concepter turns a single product image into actionable visual ideas.
Prerequisites
Before using Ad Concepter, you'll need:
- A product shot — a clean image of the product you want to feature
- A reference image — a photo or visual that represents the world, setting, or aesthetic you want the ad set in
- A brief ad concept description — a sentence or two about the direction you want to explore
This app requires credits to run and does not support infinite generations in Explore Mode.
Step 1 — Accessing Ad Concepter
Ad Concepter lives in the Apps section of Runway. You can get there two ways:
- Navigate to Apps in the left sidebar, then search to find Ad Concepter
- Navigate to Apps in the left sidebar, then locate the Ad Concepter under the Image category
Select the app to open it.
Step 2 — Adding the inputs
Ad Concepter has three inputs, all of which are required:
Ad Concept
In the Ad Concept field, enter a brief description of your ad's direction — the setting, mood, or story you want to explore. Ad Concepter is optimized for this use case, so a sentence or two is enough to guide strong results. You don't need to over-engineer the prompt.
Reference Image
Upload a reference image that represents the world you want your ad set in. This could be a location, a lifestyle aesthetic, an environmental mood — anything that establishes the visual context for the concept.
Product Shot
Upload a clean image of the product you want featured. This is what Ad Concepter will place and visualize within the concept it generates.
Step 3 — Generating with Ad Concepter
Before generating, confirm:
- Your ad concept description is filled in
- Both images have been uploaded
The Generate button will not be active until all three are provided.
Once everything looks good, select Generate. Ad Concepter uses up to 72 credits per generation and requires Claude and Nano Banana model access.
