Runway Ads lets you connect your ad accounts to Runway and have Agent create, resize and improve ad creative using what is already working in your campaigns. This article explains what Runway Ads does, where to find it and how it fits with the rest of Runway.
What you can do with Runway Ads
Runway Ads brings your ad creative, your performance data and Agent into one place.
- Connect your ad accounts — bring in campaigns, ads and results from Meta, TikTok and Google Ads
- See performance by your goal — the dashboard shows the metrics that match the goal you choose during setup, such as purchases, subscriptions, leads, app installs or brand awareness
- Ask Agent about your results — ask which ads perform best and why, using the data synced from your accounts
- Create new ads and variations — remix an existing ad, generate a new one from a prompt or start from a template, in the sizes each platform expects
- Keep everything on brand — Agent uses a Brand Kit built from your website, a PDF or a Figma file
- Review before anything goes out — new creative lands on the Review page, where an admin can request changes or approve it
Where to find Runway Ads
Runway Ads is a separate space inside your Runway workspace, next to the creative tools you already use. Runway Ads is rolling out gradually, so it may take a little while to appear in your workspace.
- Open app.runwayml.com/ads, or select the picker in the top left of Runway and choose Runway Ads
- The first time you open it, Runway walks you through a short setup. See Setting up Runway Ads
Inside Runway Ads you will find:
- Dashboard — an overview of performance plus a list of your campaigns
- Campaigns — every campaign, ad group and ad from your connected accounts
- Review — creative waiting for a decision, grouped by ad concept
- Assets — the images and videos imported from your ad accounts and generated in Runway Ads
- Brand Kit — the brand kits Agent uses when it creates ads
- Settings — connected accounts and your business info
Runway Ads is available on web browsers on desktop. It is not available on mobile web or in the Runway mobile apps.
How Runway Ads compares to Agent and the ad apps
Runway already has several ways to make ad creative, so it helps to know which one to reach for.
- Runway Ads — for teams that run paid campaigns. It connects to your ad accounts, so Agent can see what is performing and create new work from it, and it adds a review step before creative is used
- Runway Agent in Runway Creative — general creative work in your workspace. Agent can make ad-style images and videos here too, but it does not see your ad accounts or performance data
- The ad apps in the Apps tab — Create Ad, Vary Ad, Ad Localization and Ad Concepter are single-purpose tools for one-off ad creative work
Which plans include Runway Ads
Runway Ads is included on every paid Runway plan and uses the credits your workspace already has: generating ads spends credits at the usual rates, while connecting accounts, syncing, the dashboard and approvals cost nothing. On a Free plan you can see Runway Ads in the sidebar, but opening it shows an upgrade prompt.
In Enterprise organizations, Runway Ads is on in every workspace by default. An Organization Admin can turn it off for the organization or for individual workspaces from Organization Settings.
Who can do what in Runway Ads
What you can do in Runway Ads depends on your workspace role.
- Admins — set up Runway Ads, connect ad accounts, change the goal and business info, review and approve creative
- Billing Admins — connect ad accounts
- Editors — create ads and variations with Agent
- Viewers — view the dashboard
On the Team plan, the workspace owner alone connects ad accounts and approves creative. For the full breakdown of workspace roles, see the Role permissions table.
