Slide Maker is a Runway app for generating presentation-ready slides directly inside the platform. Use it to create polished visuals for decks, social posts, educational material, and marketing assets without switching to another tool.
This tutorial covers how to find Slide Maker, generate your first slide, and customize the output with presets and your Brand Kit.

Step 1 – Opening Slide Maker
You can launch Slide Maker from a few different entry points depending on how you navigate Runway:
- Go directly to the Slide Maker app
- From the left sidebar, open Apps → Image and select Slide Maker
- From Apps → Starter Kit, choose either Marketing or Educational Content and launch Slide Maker from there
Any of those routes will bring you to the app where you can begin generating.
Step 2 – Describing your slide content
Once Slide Maker is open, the left panel is where you'll define what the slide should say and show.
- In the Slide content field, write a description of the slide you want. Include the headline, supporting text, and any data or context the slide should communicate.
- (Optional) Under Logos / assets to include, upload up to 10 files — logos, product images, or other reference assets you want included in the layout.
The more specific your slide content prompt, the closer the output will match your intent. Include exact text you want rendered, in quotes if needed.
Step 3 – Picking a style
The Slide style section controls how your slide looks. You can use a built-in preset or supply your own reference.
- Browse the visible presets — Immersive Shapes, Title & Image Strip, Mosaic Grid, Big Number, Editorial Grid, Bauhaus Shapes, and more.
- Click View all to open the full library of 25 presets.
- Select a preset to apply it, or upload your own reference image to drive the style.
- Toggle Match reference exactly on if you want the output to closely follow the preset or uploaded reference. Turn it off to give the model more flexibility.
Using a Brand Kit asset
On Enterprise accounts, Slide Maker supports Brand Kits so that your slides stay on-brand without manual adjustments. For best results, upload an image of your brand's preferred slide style that includes placeholder text elements.
For more information on configuring a Brand Kit, see the Brand Kits for Enterprises article.
Step 4 – Generating the slide
With your content, style, and settings in place, you're ready to generate.
- Confirm your output settings at the bottom of the panel: aspect ratio, resolution, and number of variations.
- Click Generate.
- Review the result in the canvas. If you want a different take, adjust your prompt or pick a new preset and generate again.
Next Steps
You've now generated a slide in Runway without leaving the app. From here you can:
- Build out a full deck by generating additional slides in the same session
- Bring your slides into a video workflow — drop them into a video app to animate or sequence them
- Set up or refine your Brand Kit to make every future slide on-brand by default
