A workspace note is a short description that workspace admins write to explain what a workspace is for. Members see it in a bar across the top of Runway, so anyone landing in an unfamiliar workspace knows which one they're in.
Enterprise accounts that run a workspace per client, per production or per team use notes to orient people the moment they arrive, without a separate onboarding message.
Adding a Workspace Note
A workspace note is a short description of what a workspace is for. Every member of the workspace sees it in a bar at the top of Runway.
- From your Home page, the bottom left corner, then select Organization settings.
- On the Workspaces tab, select the three dots (...) beside the workspace, then select Edit workspace.
- Enter your note in the Workspace description field.
- Select Confirm
You can also write a note when you first create a workspace. Under the Workspaces tab, select + Create Workspace and fill in the description alongside the workspace name.
What Members See
The note appears in a bar at the very top of Runway, labeled Workspace note: followed by the text you wrote. Members can close the bar using the × on the right.
FAQ
Who can add or edit a workspace note?
Workspace admins. Editors, Viewers and Billing Admins can read the note but cannot edit it. See Workspace members & roles for a full breakdown.
What should I write in a workspace note?
Name what the workspace is for and who it belongs to. For example: "Home for all brand campaign work, social promos, cutdowns and key art."
Is a workspace note the same as a workspace tag?
Workspace notes and tags serve different purposes:
- A workspace note is free text that members read.
- Workspace tags are labels admins apply to group and filter workspaces in admin views. Members don't see them. See Organization spaces for Enterprise for more on tags.
