Common questions about who can use Runway Ads, which platforms it works with and how it fits into your Runway account. For how to use it, start with Introduction to Runway Ads.
Plans and access
Which plans include Runway Ads?
Runway Ads is included on every paid Runway plan. See Which plan is right for me?
How do I turn Runway Ads on or off for my organization?
On Enterprise plans, Runway Ads is on in every workspace by default. If you are an Organization Admin, open Organization Settings, then Settings, and find Runway Ads. One switch controls the whole organization and a switch per workspace controls each workspace. Turning it off pauses the ad accounts and hides the dashboard; nothing is deleted. See Setting up Runway Ads.
Why can't I see Runway Ads in my workspace?
Check three things: your workspace is on a paid plan, an Organization Admin has not turned Runway Ads off if you are on Enterprise, and you are using Runway in a desktop web browser. Runway Ads is not available on mobile web or in the mobile apps. It is also rolling out gradually, so it may take a little while to appear. See Why can't I see Runway Ads?
Who can do what in Runway Ads?
Admins set up Runway Ads, connect ad accounts, change the goal and approve creative. Billing Admins can connect ad accounts. Editors create ads and see performance. Viewers can view the dashboard. On the Team plan, the workspace owner alone connects accounts and approves. See the Role permissions table.
Does Runway Ads use credits?
Generating ads spends your workspace's credits at the usual rates, and shows up in your normal credit usage; there is no separate meter for Runway Ads. Connecting ad accounts, syncing, the dashboard and approvals do not use credits. See How do credits work?
Which ad platforms does Runway Ads connect to?
Meta, TikTok and Google Ads. You can connect more than one platform, and more than one ad account per platform.
Who in my workspace can see our ad spend and results?
Anyone in the workspace who can open Runway Ads can view the dashboard, including Viewers. If you do not want certain team members to see performance data, keep them out of the workspace where the ad accounts are connected.
Creating with Runway Ads
Do I need a connected ad account to make ads?
No. You can generate creative from a prompt, a template or an uploaded image. Connecting an account lets Agent remix your existing ads and use your performance data.
Can I have different goals or brands in one workspace?
Not yet. Each workspace has one goal that applies to all its connected ad accounts. If you run separate brands, use a separate workspace for each.
Is Runway Ads the same as the Create Ad and Vary Ad apps?
No. Create Ad, Vary Ad, Ad Localization and Ad Concepter are single-purpose apps for one-off creative. Runway Ads connects to your ad accounts, uses your performance data and adds a review step.
Can I use Runway Ads on my phone?
No. Runway Ads is available in desktop web browsers only.
